I can see no good reason for people to remove pools. Taking into account that a new pool is anything from $60,000+ and to have it removed and the area rebuilt would be $20,000+, this would mean a total loss of $60,000 loss of value on the property, plus the $20,000 they would spend to remove the pool, leaving the owner approximately $80,000 out of pocket — for what?
