1982 was the year when BioGuard came to Australia from Canada, firstly under the brand name SwimChem, then later BioGuard.
Just like today, BioGuard was a pioneering brand in 1982, and was the first company to focus on education and training, running five-day chemical schools for retailers and technicians.
However, it was introducing computerised water analysis and a programmed approach to pool care using premium products that marked out BioGuard as an innovator in Australia.
The BioGuard model of working with retailers was also markedly different by recognising them as partners to help develop their businesses rather than just selling them products.
Retailers valued this approach and BioGuard enjoyed early success, particularly in regional Australia, where they also offered the same free freight service as the city.
BioGuard has relaunched some of its best-selling products with new look packaging to enhance product and in-store merchandising.
Power Chlor (5kg), Salt Cell Cleaner (1L), Scale Inhibitor (1L) and Swim Clear (10kg) have all had a makeover and the changes bring the products in-line with packaging changes made on other products over the last 12 months.
The roll out of the new product design coincides with BioGuard celebrating 30 years in Australia.
