After consulting with industry, the Department of Environment and Energy has published a consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) for swimming pool pumps. The Department is seeking feedback from businesses and other stakeholders on the consultation RIS.

The RIS examines ways to improve the energy efficiency of swimming pool pumps sold in Australia. It includes proposed measures such as energy rating labels and minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) for pool pumps.

Interested stakeholders are invited to comment on the analysis and proposals contained in the consultation RIS. Submissions should be sent to poolpumps@environment.gov.au by 5 pm on 21 December 2016. For more information on providing feedback, and to view the consultation RIS, visit www.energyrating.gov.au/consultation/consultation-ris-swimming-pool-pumps.
