Fluidra and Zodiac merger finalised
The Fluidra and Zodiac merger has been finalised. Announced in November 2017, the deal brings together a portfolio of recognised brands and gives it a direct presence in 45 countries. It will maintain the Fluidra name and employ more than 5500 staff. Local-level mergers will be made gradually.
Fluidra will maintain its global headquarters in Barcelona and its North American headquarters in San Diego. Fluidra Executive President Eloi Planes will remain Executive Chairman of its board of directors, while former Zodiac CEO Bruce Brooks will serve as the company’s CEO.
As part of the European Commission approval of the transaction, Fluidra will divest its Aquatron unit, the Israeli manufacturer of robotic pool cleaners with distribution primarily in Europe. The company says it will maintain strong global presence across the automatic pool cleaning category, which includes pressure, suction and robotic pool cleaners.
Poolwerx has renewed commercial contracts for further three years.
