SPASA Australia Seeks National Manager

Thursday, 28 March, 2013

The Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Australia Ltd (SPASA Australia) commenced its search today for a National Manager to help drive the industry forward with an emphasis on member representation, advocacy and stakeholder liaison.

National spokesperson, Adrian Hart (and CEO of SPASA Qld) said this is an exciting next step in the evolution of SPASA Australia and reflects the positive vision shared by its Board of Directors and state Associations.

“We are keen to engage fully with industry, consumers and the government for the benefit of our members and the swimming spa and pool sector generally. SPASA is strong on the ground at a state level and this will enhance national credibility through positive outcomes.”

“It is only through a positive and supportive collaboration of the state Associations that the SPASA Australia board is able to deliver on its promises. They are not acting in isolation and are ensuring that the results achieved will benefit members across the entire country.” he said.

The National Manager will be responsible for advocating to and influencing the federal government, members and media to elevate the importance of the swimming pool and spa industry and its related issues, and to build upon the reputation of SPASA Australia.

The primary focus of the position is to communicate with leading National Members, provide strategic recommendations to the Board and lead the implementation of lobbying and proactive activity on federal policy matters impacting SPASA Australia.

According to Hart, this will be a challenging and rewarding role for the right person to work at the highest levels of government and industry representing, through SPASA Australia and its network of supporting state SPASA Associations (Queensland, Victoria, South Australia & Western Australia), the largest representative group in the swimming pool and spa industry sector.

The appointment of a National Manager was anticipated earlier in the month with the reports of proactive plans to deliver improved member benefits.
