SPASA Australia

Thursday, 23 November, 2017

Queensland Pool Safety Inspectors (PSIs) can have their say at the next PSI Technical Forum and Regional Sector Group meeting on 29 November 2017.

The event is being held at 10 am at AstralPool and attendees have the opportunity to discuss general industry issues. There are also two continuing professional development (CPD) presentations on offer. The Technical Forums will be held prior to the regular sector group meeting. Members may raise issues of general interest/concern at the meeting and for any on which no consensus can be reached, they will be raised with the Department of Housing and Public Works for resolution, and may form the basis of a future CPD Technical Forum.

Technical Forum topics for this event:

  1. Pool Safety Barriers. Presented by Kylie Rojahn of Atlantis Pool Services, this presentation will cover a range of issues including: canals and permanent bodies of water, gaps, gates, clear zones, portables, CPR signs and record keeping.
  2. Pool Fencing Defects & Omissions. A review of several years of practical experience covering interpretation of the pool safety standard in response to common non-conformities, as presented by Rodney Webb of AWEBBCO.
